Dynamic New Real Estate Business Model Arrives in Maryborough
Thu, 08 May 2008

After three successful years recruiting new Harcourts Business Owners and offices in Queensland, former state Franchise Development Manager is bringing a unique business model to his new Maryborough office, while allowing the former owners a change of direction.

Justen Tillman was a small business owner before being approached by Harcourts Queensland’s CEO, Aaron Brooks, to grow the brand in Queensland. During his three years in the corporate office, Mr Tillman brought almost 40 new Business Owners and offices on board and assisted many more experienced Sales Consultants move their real estate careers to Harcourts.

It was during his numerous discussions and relationship-building with Principals, Business Owners and Sales Consultants across multiple brands in the Queensland real estate industry, that Mr Tillman created a unique business model based on what he saw to be areas that were lacking in real estate businesses across the state.

“It became clear to me that it was difficult for Sales Consultants to make money aside from the commission they earn during the course of their career from the sale of their listings,” Mr Tillman said.

“With this in mind, I have created a profit/equity-sharing system for team members in my new Maroochy-Kuluin office, where they can share in the profitability of the business as well as build a very tangible and saleable sales and Property Management shareholding within the business which can be cashed in when exiting the business,” he said.

Mr Tillman said it was important to him that he was able to empower his team members by assisting them to reach their personal and professional goals and intended not to compete with his staff by being a non-selling Principal. This, in turn, would result in more driven and dedicated service to their clients to create exceptional results.

As well as the Maroochy-Kuluin office, Mr Tillman has opened an office in Maroochy-Kuluin, and had firm plans to create a central sunshine coast group by opening a Maroochydore office on or before November this year, a Sippy Downs office on or before March 2009, as well as a Sunshine Coast Commercial office the same month.

CEO of Harcourts Queensland, Aaron Brooks, said, “Justen was one of our extremely valued corporate team members for a number of years, and I am delighted he has made the decision to build his own empire out there in the market, especially with such a unique model. Whilst he will be sorely missed in the state office, we are looking forward to the next chapter of his exciting journey with Harcourts and wish him tremendous success.”
